Builder & Contractor Partnerships

Beautifully Built. Thoughtfully Organized. Ready for Real Life.

A successful build or renovation should do more than deliver a beautiful finished space. It should create a home that works for the people living in it.

Shift Organizing Solutions works alongside builders and contractors to bring practical organizing expertise into the building process. By understanding what clients own, how they use their spaces and what their household needs, we help identify storage requirements and functional considerations before important decisions are finalized.

Once the project is complete, we help organize the finished spaces, source and install organizing products, and put practical systems in place.

You build the space. We help make sure it works for the people who call it home.

Bringing Function Into the Build Process

Understand What the Client Actually Needs

Before cabinetry, closets, built-ins and other storage areas are finalized, we work through the client's existing belongings to understand what needs to fit into the space.

  • Review belongings in the areas being built, renovated or updated.

  • Identify what clients use regularly, what needs to be accessible and what requires longer-term storage.

  • Assess the quantity and types of belongings that need to be accommodated.

  • Help identify items clients no longer need or want to keep.

  • Understand any specific storage challenges or household requirements.

The benefit to you: You have a clearer understanding of what the finished space needs to accommodate before construction decisions are finalized. This helps ensure storage is planned around the client's actual needs rather than assumptions.

Plan Storage Around How the Client Lives

With a better understanding of the client's inventory and routines, we provide practical organizing recommendations to help inform storage decisions throughout the project.

  • Identify practical storage zones based on how the client uses each space.

  • Consider accessibility and placement of frequently used items.

  • Provide recommendations for shelving, drawers, cabinetry and built-in storage.

  • Identify opportunities to improve how belongings will be stored and accessed.

  • Highlight organizing products or storage solutions that may be needed.

The benefit to you: You have an additional resource to help consider the everyday functionality of the space. Our recommendations complement your construction expertise and help ensure the finished home supports the way your client actually lives.

Bring the Finished Space to Life

Once construction or renovations are complete, we help organize the client's belongings and put the systems in place so the space is ready for everyday use.

  • Organize kitchens, pantries, closets, bathrooms, laundry rooms and other storage areas.

  • Set up drawers, cupboards, shelving and built-ins.

  • Source and install appropriate organizing products.

  • Unpack and organize belongings following a new build, renovation or relocation.

  • Establish practical systems that support the household's everyday routines.

The benefit to you: Your clients receive support beyond the completion of construction. Rather than leaving them to figure out storage products and organization on their own, you can offer a resource that helps turn the finished project into a fully functional home.

A Collaborative Extension of Your Services

You make the introduction. We work directly with your client while collaborating with you throughout the process.

We begin with a client questionnaire and space assessment to understand their belongings, storage needs and everyday routines. From there, we work together to identify practical solutions that can be incorporated into the project.

Once construction and installation are complete, we return to organize the space, source and install products, and put the systems in place.

You lead the build. We bring the organizing expertise to help make the finished home fully functional.

How the Partnership Works

1. Make the Introduction

Introduce your client to SOS when a project would benefit from professional organizing input. We'll connect directly with them to get started.

2. Assess and Collaborate

We complete a client questionnaire and space assessment to understand their inventory, routines and storage requirements. We then collaborate with you on practical recommendations and organizing solutions that support the project..

3. Complete the Organizing Setup

Once construction and installation are finished, we return to organize the client's belongings, source and install products, and establish the systems that make the space ready for everyday use. You focus on bringing the project to completion. We help bring the organizing systems to life, too.
